Journaling Is Good for Mental Health

Journaling is simply writing down your thoughts and feelings to understand them more clearly. And if you struggle with stress, depression, or anxiety, keeping a journal can be a way to release those stressors. Even the great Captain James T. Kirk had a journal, he called it a Captain's Log, and he chronicled his thoughts and feelings about those pesky Klingons.

The Benefits of Journaling

A healthy way to express yourself and to deal with any overwhelming emotions is journaling, it can be a helpful tool to manage anxiety, reduce stress, and cope with depression. Journaling may help control your symptoms and improve your mood by helping you prioritize your problems, fears, and concerns. Journaling can also provide a safe space for positive self-talk and identify any negative thoughts and behaviors. Journaling is just one aspect of a healthy mentality, in conjunction with journaling it's recommended to relax and meditate each day, eat a healthy balanced diet, exercise regularly, get enough sleep each night, and stay away from alcohol and drugs.

How To Start Your Journal

  • Try designating a few minutes a day to write in your journal, this will help you to create a daily routine and will become 2nd nature to do so.
  • keep a pen and paper handy, so when you do have a stream of consciousness or an epiphany you can write it down.
  • Your journal does not have to follow a strict structure, it's what you make of it, it's you, for you, by you, and has your identity stamp on it, your DNA oozing through the pages. It's your private place to discuss and create whatever you want, whether it's expressing your thoughts and feelings, or just letting the words and ideas flow like water.

Ideas For Journaling

This is a personal decision that only you can make, and your journal can change over time, here are some ideas:

  • Personal and career goals
  • Quotes that motivate and inspire you
  • Express your gratitude
  • Revelations and Reflections
  • Questions that you hope to answer in the future
  • Things that you want to improve on
  • A long-term vision and goal on where and who you want to be
  • Your activities and what you have done and experienced
  • Your trials and tribulations, obstacles, things that you want to overcome.
  • What you eat, and how you feel afterwards

The results of journaling are that it can improve your mood and give you a greater sense of overall emotional well-being and happiness. Happy journaling and keep me posted on your journaling journey in the comments section!

Purpose Driven Warriors

Purpose-driven warriors are those who are driven by a sense of purpose and who align their personal and career goals with a higher purpose. These warriors can inspire others to achieve great things, create a positive impact on society, and ultimately achieve long-term success. A purpose-driven warrior knows no boundaries or failures too big to handle and pursues their dreams and goals no matter what. There are things that purpose-driven warriors do: Positive Outcome Focus To become a purpose-driven warrior, the primary focus must be on the positive outcome, the outcome that you're trying to receive, instead of any potential negative outcomes. Practicing this technique will push any negatives to the back burner. Failure is your Friend Failure can be an obstacle to success, failure is not permanent, you fall down, dust yourself off, and keep moving forward, just reflect and learn from these life experiences. Self-Awareness Being self-aware will give you an outward perspective on your...
